사설토토 Sports are America’s greatest pastime. From the players to the coaches, parents, and spectators, it seems a majority of people are involved in sport somehow. Basketball is one of those sports that garners a lot of attention. But in order to build your team to gain the wins and get the attention they deserve, you have to bring skills to the court and score points. So here are some ways to get those skills and bring your team to a winning season.
Focusing on the offense may come easily but you need to be able to focus on the defense as well., Basketball games are won because of good defense. The offense is flashier, so it draws the attention of fans and journalists, but a team that can’t defend well won’t win any games.
When you’re passing the ball, make sure that you pass the ball to the location of where the person should be headed. You don’t want your pass to be the reason a person needs to slow down or double back. Your pass should be aimed for a little bit in front of the person that you are passing to.
When you’re dribbling the ball, you should avoid looking down at the ball. You should be able to dribble without staring at the ball. If you can dribble without seeing the ball, you’ll be able to keep your eyes on the rest of the game. This will build you to know who is open for a pass or if you have a chance to take a shot.
You should practice boxing out the other players to improve your rebounding. It is really easy to do, but many experienced players forget about it during the game. Boxing out is simply getting in front of the other player when the shot is in the air. This puts you in a prime position to grab the rebound.
To become a better dribbler in basketball, practice with your eyes closed. This will build you to be able to dribble while keeping a close watch on the action of the game. Be sure to practice while you’re moving too so that you can dribble and maneuver around the court without ever having to look down at the ball.
Once you’ve passed the basketball while on offense, consider doing a hard cut straight towards the basket. Sometimes this action will break your man-to-man coverage or, at the very least, confuse the zone you are playing against. It can open you up for an easy layup or distract the defense long enough for an easy perimeter shot for whoever currently has the ball.
When learning to dribble, you need to learn to dribble with both hands. This is important because you may have to switch hands when dribbling during a game. Also, learn to dribble behind your back and between an opponent’s legs. This may seem silly, but you may actually use this technique.
When you dribble, make sure that you use fingertips instead of palms. This gives you much more control over the ball. Using your palms can cause the ball to go all over the place on the court, whereas using your fingertips keeps it under your control when you have to run.
As you can see, learning a skill can be an easy bit of practicing and perfecting it may take time. But that is fine because as long as you are enjoying what you do, you will only get better at it. Practicing as often as you can mean that you spend time alone doing it with no one to cheer you. But keep in mind that every bit of practice will lead you to the moment when your skills will be called into play and you can make that move on the court that every player dreams of.
